Payment
We are only able to accept US dollars. We do not take credit or debit cards, or use Paypal. Payment is due at the time of the reading for in-person appointments (see exceptions below). Telephone readings must be paid for prior to scheduling the reading.
- For in-person readings, donations are accepted in cash or money orders.
- For telephone readings, you can pay by personal check or money order.
During the summer camp season, we require a deposit of $40 per reading when (a) more than two people are scheduling together, and (b) the appointment date is at least 10 days prior to the date of the reading. When we schedule, we will ask you to send your deposit immediately to hold your slots. The remaining $25 is due in cash at the time of the reading.
During the off-season, we require prepayment for all scheduled readings. Janice is available only on limited dates, so it is best to contact us in advance.
Scheduling and Holding Appointments
We schedule appointments for both in-person and telephone readings as they are available. Telephone readings are booked at least two weeks in advance, once payment is received. In-person readings are scheduled when Janice has openings. You can reach us by phone at 716-595-2467. We check email requests for appointments regularly, if you prefer to contact us via the internet.
We will hold your appointment for in-person readings for 15 minutes past the time of the appointment, after which time you will lose the slot. You may sign up for a new time slot if one is available on the daily schedule posted at 12 South St.
Cancellation Policy
We request 24-hour notice for the cancellation of all appointments. If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please call and cancel, even it is less than 24 hours before the appointment so we may make the time slot available to someone else.
If you cancel or do not call or appear for a telephone reading or a prepaid out-of-season reading less than 24 hours before the appointment, your payment for the reading is forfeited. You may schedule another reading (which will require another payment).
If you cancel an in-person reading less than 24 hours before the appointment or simply don't show up, your name will be put on a "do not schedule" list. (In this case, if you still want a reading with Janice, you may check her availability by consulting the posted schedule for the day.)
Group Readings
In general, Janice does not encourage readings involving more than one person for several reasons. (There are specific exceptions to this policy; see the next paragraph for details.) One reason is that she cannot guarantee that all the people in the reading will receive information or contact from Spirit; for example, one person may receive all the focus in a group reading. This can be upsetting to others who are looking for information as well. Secondly, Janice is committed to communicating whatever information Spirit brings to her. Sometimes this information is very personal and may be emotionally charged for the person receiving the information. Although a group reading may seem attractive beforehand, people often appreciate the privacy that comes with an individual reading once they are having the reading. Thirdly, group readings can be overwhelming, with too many loved ones and/or spirits competing for attention.
The exceptions to this policy involve people who are very significant to each other and readings for children and teens. Sometimes spouses or life partners or a group of family members need to be in a reading together if they have suffered a recent or traumatic event or loss. In certain circumstances, a couple, a parent-child pair, or two siblings may benefit from a joint reading. (See Children and Mediumship for specific information about parents or guardians being present in readings for young people.) At times, family members or close friends are interested in coming as a group (i.e., more than two people) to contact a specific loved one. If you feel a joint or group reading might be appropriate for you, please talk with us and we will work with you to determine what we think would be most useful. Also, for your information, the fee for a joint 30 minute reading is $85 (instead of $65); donations for group readings are dependent on the number of people and the reading situation.
